About me: 
I am new to riding as of 2006. I have always wanted a bike but didn't know which direction to go, sport bike, touring or cruiser. I was leaning more towards a sport bike until I was approached by a co-worker who has been riding for a while.

He explained the ins and outs of the different types, purpose etc. I decided on the cruiser but I didn't know which one. My co-worker who also works part time at HD as a mechanic steered me FAR AWAY from purchasing an HD.

He said that the Honda's are known for having good reliability and are very dependable. My eyes were set on a 06 VTX 1300C. Of course my friend the mechanic and adviser was very concerned and told me to purchase a used one first. My theory was I didn't want to purchase something just to replace it with another.
In March 2006 I bought my first bike, a MOPAD, no just kidding I bought my 06 VTX1300C. Of course, I had to ask the co-worker to ride my bike to my house. I am still disappointed that I was not the first.

After purchasing my bike it sat on my drive way for 3 weeks since I have not taken the safety course. After I completed the course and attempted to incorporate all that I have learned, I realized why the co-worked advised me to go with a used and smaller bike. I was determined to tame the beast that I had just bought. I started riding around the neighborhood, then streets, highways, curves and finally long trips. I have been hooked ever since. I ended last years riding season with 7,500 miles.
